Crisis Ministry

 

The Crisis ministry provides a wide range of services to individuals and families in times of need. - weather it be food, clothing, furniture, medications, utility payments, rent, bus tickets, car repairs, or other essential services. Our hearts want to assist with every need that comes our way but the harsh realities of life state that we can only assist when funds are available.
 
Here is a list of some other places that clients might find assistance in the county.
 
          Department of Social Services (Monday – Friday)
          YMCA Corpening Fund – Rent/Utilities (Tuesdays by appointment)
          McDowell Mission Ministries – Shelter, Thrift Store, Food & General Benevolence (call for availability)
          Salvation Army - Thrift Store, Rent assistance
          Grace Community Church – Food (Monday & Wednesdays 10am-2pm)/Summer Lunch Bunch
          General Benevolence
          Old Fort Crisis Ministry Thrift Store, Benevolence, and Food – (Old Fort Residents only)
          Clinchfield UMC - Soup Kitchen (Tuesday & Thursday’s Lunch 11am - 1pm) & Food Program
          Dysartsville Ministries - Food (Thursday 2:30-5:30 pm Dysartsville Residents only)
          Victory Christian Ministries – Food (Tuesdays 5-7pm & Sundays 11am-1pm)
          Good Samaritan Clinic – Free Medical (can not have any insurance or Medicaid Open Tuesday
                                evening and Saturday morning Nisha Patel’s office McDowell Med Park)
          God’s Country – General Benevolence (call for availability) & Thrift Store
          Helping Hands - Thrift Store supporting Hospice
          St John’s Episcopal Church – Food (Wednesday’s 2-4 pm)
